BASS Announces 2010 Bassmaster College Classic to be held on Logan Martin Lake

The new event will feature two college bass fishing teams, the University of Alabama and Auburn University, which will square off in a one-day, cumulative weight tournament at the 40th edition of the Classic, set for Feb. 19-21 on Alabama’s Lay Lake. The storied in-state rivalry between the two universities should provide legions of Classic fans a rooting interest in the competition.

The College Bass National Championship is collegiate bass fishing’s only true national championship event. It brings together the best student anglers in the country for a tournament featuring thousands of dollars in scholarship monies and the priceless chance to compete for school pride.
Since its inception in 2005, College Bass has grown from six sanctioned clubs and teams competing for the national title to 70 competing teams and 170 sanctioned clubs and the property continues to grow. College Bass boasts more than 230 sanctioned clubs for the 2010 season.
In 2009, the College Bass National Championship expanded its season with the addition of two Super Regional events to compliment its annual national championship.
